The Expertise of Sols Concepts

Diamond polished concrete

Diamond polished concrete is a smooth concrete floor which was processed by mechanical grinding and polishing using diamond tools. The process is similar to the grinding of wood. It can be obtained from any existing slab, as part of a new installation or a renovation. The properties are quite different from polished or waxed concrete.

Diamond polished concrete is positioned as a superior and sustainable product and is presented as an alternative to polished or waxed concrete, epoxy floorings and other types of flooring. In some ways, this type of floor can offer finishes similar to natural stone.

Thanks to the different levels of finish, diamond polished concrete can be used in several types of housing : residential homes, industrial and commercial buildings (factories, commercial centers, shops, showrooms,…).

The advantages of diamond polished concrete are numerous. In particular, the aesthetic aspect, polished concrete comes in different types of finishes, in terms of gloss, color and aggregates (exposed, semi-exposed or “salt and pepper”). It is also a very economic and ecological type of flooring because there is no use of additional materials and it is very sustainable.

Through grinding and other treatments the floor offers optimal protection against fat stains and most liquids except harsh chemicals).Cleaning is very easy.

Sols Concepts also offers the coloration of concrete tiles through impregnation with pigments. This technique offers you a large pallet of aesthetic choices without coloring in the mass or on the surface which fades in time.

Cast concrete - thin layer

Cast concrete is an interesting possibility as a renovated floor or as a new floor. This floor can be cast on an existing tile floor or screed in a very thin layer, starting at 5 mm thickness.

This type of flooring is similar to traditional concrete floors ( polished or waxed concrete). This floor can be left rough or with color variations (natural) or come with trowel marks or grinded and diamond polished for a more smooth and uniform or even gloss finish.

Sols Concepts works with several suppliers and offers you a wide range of aesthetic choices and types of protection. The choice of color, finish, gloss (matte, satin or high gloss) and the natural look of the floor provides you with a unique floor. Thanks to the use of separation profiles it is possible to combine several mixes and to integrate aesthetic or functional forms into the floor while maintaining a perfectly smooth finish.

Besides the aesthetic qualities and advantages in terms of installation and performance, this type of floor also offers an excellent mechanical resistance. The floor can be left untreated, without any form of protection for industrial applications.

However for commercial and private use, the floor can be waxed or treated with a varnish to protect it against stains and increase ease of maintenance. Finally, repairs and renovation of these floors are possible for a reasonable price. Their lifetime is infinite.

If the surface permits it and depending on the selected type of finish, the floor can be cast in 2 days and can already be used on the third day (open to pedestrian traffic 4 hours after casting).

Granito-Terrazzo

The « granito » or « terrazzo » is one of the most ancient floors originating from Italy, from Venice to be precise. This type of floor is very similar to traditional concrete with the main difference being the substitution of sand and gravel by natural stone and crushed elements (marble, granite, glass, mirror, metal, shells,…).

Resin Floors

Resin floors have long been used for industrial applications where their resistance, ease of maintenance and seamless finish offer efficient long term and cost effective solutions. Since a few years and with the rise of aesthetically pleasing floors, epoxy and polyurethane (PU) floors are used more and more for private and commercial applications.

Today’s resin floors combine all the advantages of an industrial floor covering with a wide range of colors. Besides the choice of colors (according to RAL codes) it is also possible to choose several types of looks (smooth, concrete, quartz) and finishes (mate, gloss, anti-slip).

Resin based floor coverings can also be used in combination with floor heating, indoors and outdoors.

In terms of execution, these self-smoothing coverings are cast to a thickness of 2 to 5 mm. They can be cast on screed or concrete tiles or directly onto a tile floor in the event of a renovation. Of course they have the advantage of an entirely flat and smooth floor, whatever the original surface may be and in this way hide all faults. They are an excellent alternative when renovating a floor.
