This project highlights the deep renovation of a marble floor where wear was not only aesthetic but also structural. The initial diagnosis revealed a dull, scratched, and stained surface, but above all, a major technical issue: many tiles had shifted over time. These movements created significant lippage (unevenness between slabs) and led to the degradation of the joints, giving the entire room a neglected and worn appearance.
To remedy these defects, we implemented a comprehensive protocol aimed primarily at restoring perfect planarity. The intervention began with technical grinding to level the surface and eliminate gaps between the slabs, while simultaneously repairing damaged joints. Once the base was stabilized and deep scratches removed, we refined the stone's texture through successive polishing stages to prepare for a high-gloss finish.
The finish was perfected through crystallization, a specific mechano-chemical treatment that hardens the upper layer and maximizes light reflection. The result is undeniable: smooth, brilliant marble that has regained its full depth and natural beauty. This project proves that even a floor with leveling defects and advanced wear can regain its original luster through rigorous technical mastery.
