Technical Marble Floor Renovation: Sanding and Crystallization

This intervention focused on the comprehensive restoration of a marble floor that had undergone significant mechanical wear. The initial diagnosis revealed a surface saturated with micro-scratches and stains, evidencing an opening of the material's porosity and a loss of its original surface condition.

To rectify these technical issues, we deployed a strict protocol. Sanding first allowed us to abrade the damaged superficial layer to reveal the bare stone. The successive application of diamond abrasives with decreasing grit sizes was then necessary to erase deep scratches while preparing the surface tension essential for the finishing phase.

The operation concluded with crystallization. This mechano-chemical process modifies the structure of the upper layer to significantly increase the stone's hardness and close its pores. This reduction in porosity creates a preventive technical barrier against future soiling, delivering a healthy, smooth, and durably protected floor.
